Marai and Ecclesia

Hey

I'm really looking for some background on the difference between the marai sect and the ecclesia..it's easy enough to figure out the ecclesia, having been raised in the RC, but i'm not clear whether the marai sect is more like the morovingian or gnostics or whether you've created a sect of eli that is simply nothing like what we have here and now.

Oh also, are there any countries that have people more like the Norse, Slavic, or Germanic peoples? (i found a group that is bearded and pale, but nothing made me say , oh yeah, equivalent Norse-ya! you betcha! (yet))

Lastly, what WOULD the side-effects be if a theriomorph decided to appear fully human (or as close as possible to it)

Don't you just hate newbies who immediately post all their questions with no actual focus on whether they all belong in the same forum?

I just powered through the entire set of stories on the podcast and i'm ready for more!!

Gaming in Metamor?

With magic being thrown into the mix, what does the world of gaming look like in Metamor? Do MMORPGs get infected with rougue spirits and the monsters try and sneak out of the game? With magic it would be a lot easier to make virtual reality games.

Non-Sydicate Vampires?

Other than vampires who's sire has died are there other groups of vampires in Metamor that are outside the sydicate?

The Wider World

The denizens of Metamor City may think of it as a world unto itself, but it's also part of a much wider world.

Steam-age Metamor City?

I assume that Metamor City had a "steam age" where industrialization was starting, and labor began moving from small workshops to large factories, and where the existing class system was overturned by the new prosperity created by industrial productivity.

How closely would it parallel our own age of Steam?

Names in Metamor City

I'm writing what's turning out to be a major fanfic set in MC and I have a question...

What's the best place to find names that fit in?

So far I'm using fairly ordinary Earth names but they don't feel Metamorish enough for me.

A blind side plot twist

Ok, so I've been listening to podcast novels since Earthcore and the beginning of 7th Son, and I have to say this is one of the most unexpected plot twist I think I've ever heard.  Only in Metamor City could something like this happen.divdivChris Lester, you have officially made it into the club with the rest of those cliff-hangering bastards that keep us coming back for more!  Thanks so much for what you do and I can't wait to see where you take Daniel from here.

Listener Polls

Thinking ahead for this year's Parsecs -- which story should I submit for consideration for Best Speculative Fiction Story (Short Form)?

Go here for the poll.

Ask the Author

Hey all!

Thanks for joining TheCursed.org!  Shedwick has done a very nice job of getting this thing up and running, and I'm glad that people are making use of it.

I'm going to stay out of the episode discussions for the most part -- I don't want to ruin people's speculations by giving things away prematurely -- but if you've got a question about Metamor City that you want me to answer, post it here and I'll do my best to comply (within reason). Those of you who want to remain completely spoiler-free should consider yourselves warned. :)

Cheers,
