What kind of microphones and recording equipment do you use? I am a podcaster myself and i am very interested in how you are getting good quality and also getting low size files.
I use an MXL 990 microphone hooked up to a Lexicon Lambda audio interface (using a Monster Cable XLR microphone cord). I have a little desktop microphone stand, an antishock mount for the microphone, and a pop filter to cut down on those Ps and Ts.
If you buy this stuff when it's on sale, you can get the whole setup listed above for around $300. You'll also need a good set of over-the-ear headphones; I use the Panasonic RP-HT710. Finally, since audio takes up a LOT of hard drive space, you'll want at least an extra 250 GB of free space if you plan on storing your uncompressed audio long-term.

You might want to try posting this in the Ask the Author thread.
Is there anyone in charge around here?
