Next time on The Metamor City Podcast:
The battle is over, the bodies have fallen, and it’s time for the survivors to count the cost. The Sommers cell has defied the norms of its society; Daniel unwittingly aided enemies of the Collective; Abbey is a former fugitive. How will the Hive choose to deal with this band of misfits? And what will Malcolm ard’Valos do, now that his pawn has been taken from him?
Find out in two weeks — until then, keep it on the bright side!

Thoughts for Chapter 30
Poor Abbey, loosing Darla, though anyone who listened to the earlier episodes knew this was coming but its still a devastating lose for her.
Sasha, somehow I knew she would end up "dead". Though Chris sure threw a wicked curve ball with having Sasha survivng within Abbey's mind, near enough to an androgyne without the ability to shift forms. Sasha's death is going to affect everyone, Brian, Becca, Daniel, but especially Fiona as she was closest to Fiona.
Is it me or does it seem like in the last few episodes Fiona has been the hardest hit emotionally? Reliving the death of her mother, having to "kill" her hero Miriam, and now "loosing" her lover/soul mate in the "death" of Sasha. Yes Sasha will "survive" in a way but it will never be the same for Fiona and Sasha. Or for that matter anyone in the Summers cell.
I'm somewhat surprised that it was Daniel that finally pulled the trigger on Victor. Daniel did not strike me as someone who would be willing to take a life unless absolutely necessary, ie save his own life. Sure Brian was being attacked but Brian had control of the nanotech in Victor's brain and easly shut Victor down. Obviously Daniel/Danni is going to need quite some time to come to grips with taking a life.....
Damn you Lester!! Now I want the next/final episode to see how season #1 wraps up!!
Peace be the Journey
lol you beat me to posting lol
also you have to remember that Victor used Daniel
yeah well Time Warner cable was having internet outages in my area and as soon as it came back up I needed to post my thoughts on Chapter 30 asap =P
yes I do remember Victor using Daniel. just personality wise Daniel does not strike as one to take a life. though in a way I can understand just how angry Daniel is over being used, but to take it to the extreme he did with Victor caught me off guard.
I actually expected Brian to just fry Victor's mind after Victor killed Sasha's body.....
Peace be the Journey
like it was say in the story victor had to be put down I dont think Daniel let angry rule him I think he seen victor as a cancer that need to be destroyed
*nods* This finale required sacrifices from all of our heroes. Sasha, giving her life; Fiona, giving up her right to her vendetta in order to protect Abbey; Brian, giving up the "safe zone" of Hive approval to challenge the way the Hive treats people; and Daniel, giving up his innocence in order to protect the people he loves.
"Zombie guards, seize him!" Tell me that's not fun to say.
well here is something I thought about last night.divdivWhat if Sasha joined with Daniel/Danni? With Daniel being an androgyne wouldn't the combination of Daniel/Danni with Sasha allow her to shape shift into her original form or something very close to it?divdivOr is it that Androgyne's can only having two personalities/souls inhabiting one body?divdivSure its a weird thought but it definitely could be interesting to see something like this happen. Though somehow I suspect that the Abbey/Sasha hybrid personality will come to live with the Summers cell in the very near future unless Chris throws some other wicked curve ball at us in the final(?) chapter......
Peace be the Journey
Interesting thought, Waranis! I don't think Sasha could make the leap to Daniel/Danni at this point, though; she's holding on only because she was in gestalt with Abbey at the time of her death. Sasha/Abbey could join in a gestalt with Daniel/Danni, but I don't think Sasha could end up in D/D's head permanently without Abbey coming along with her.
"Zombie guards, seize him!" Tell me that's not fun to say.
When sasha intergrates with abbey will that create a new personality, or will abbey just have the memories of sasha or will two people exist in abbey with one switched off?
I am asking because abbey in troubled minds gives no hint of having sasha or the memories of sasha in her head.
Help
Hi Barca!
When the two women's souls integrate, it will create a new personality that is a hybrid of both of them. The new personality decides to call itself Abbey because that's the name of the body that they share. The Abbey you see in Troubled Minds and other, later stories is the syncretic personality who results from the union of Sasha and the younger Abbey -- and you'll see indicators of Sasha's personality coming through in the things she says and does, especially in some of the season 2 stories.
"Zombie guards, seize him!" Tell me that's not fun to say.
so from the sounds of it, it seems that Abbey will be a main character in Season 2. this makes me wonder if we'll see cameo appearances of the Summers cell in Season 2.....
Peace be the Journey
Thanks etherius for clearing that up for me.
i was hoping that sasha would survive as i found her a very interesting character, but i always seem to wind up liking characters who end up dead .
i now fully expect jim hartman to wind up dead in antithesis.
Thanks for a great story.

That's probably not an accident. When an author realizes he's going to have to kill a character, he usually goes out of his way to flesh them out and give them depth and substance, so that the death means something. Often the character ends up becoming one of the author's favorites; Sasha was certainly one of mine.
