great job chris!
thanks for the sacrifice of late nights etc.
I think it's the ability to produce scenes like this that separates master writers from the rest.
The scene with Fiona's mother was horrifying enough. However, the sad truth that justice/vengeance can never truly be served by her on Victor and Egan just makes it that much more frustrating. To be honest, I would have a bitch of a time writing a scene that horrific without knowing that at some point, there was going to be one hell of a holy reckoning.
It seems that Miriam is settling into her new...well...'life.' Again, there's an uncomfortable ease in the way that scene played out, largely again because it feels like there's no 'full circle' that can really come of it. She's basically stuck in her role now, unable to lash out at the bastard who turned her, or end her own existence. Again, no justice there.
I dunno; the chapter was great, and I'm really enjoying the story. In truth though, I'm just glad I wasn't delivering newspapers when I listened to this one. I think I would have sympathized with Fiona a bit too much and dented a few doors in frustration :P
Fiona witnessing the death of her mother and then being forced to forget it has to be beyond traumatizing. Luckily for Fiona she has Sasha, Brian, Rebecca and Danni/Daniel all willing to be there and help her cope with this trauma. Like Outcast said Fiona really cannot get revenge on Egan but she sure as hell can try and hunt and kill Victor, even if she does it on her own.
Brian and Fiona might have a problem have a problem now that Miriam's new order from Malcolm is to bring them in. Though at the same time I somehow suspect that it will be Fiona who realizes what Miriam has become. Especially considering Fiona's powers are more or less out of control and her senses are probably jacked through the roof.
It's going to be an interesting chapter, well hell it'll be interesting to see how the entire story wraps up over the next couple of months....
Peace be the Journey
Waranis all Malcolm wonts is them brought in yes that means she will have to bring them in but he did not say when how or anything like that that so she has so room to move there
true Malcolm wants Brian and Fiona brought in. but it seems to me that while he parades Brian and Fiona around in front of the other Vampire Princes that Malcolm could do something drastic to save face. add in the fact that if Malcolm finds out that Fiona is an egotist like Miriam he might have Fiona turned so he has another telepath in his control within the Psi Collective. of course this is all speculation at this point and we all have to wait and see how Chris handles this part of the story...
Peace be the Journey
