Feedback:
Chris takes a break from feedback this week because he was putting this episode together at 3 AM and didn’t have the energy for it. Next time on The Metamor City Podcast:
It’s morning at the Sommers cell, and Daniel and Rebecca must deal with the messy side-effects of their relationship choices. Plus, Abbey Preston returns!
Keep it on the bright side!

OK, first off let me say how much I have enjoy the Metamor City podcast. Production wise it is quite possibly the very best podcast around right now. Story wise it ranks up there with Scott Sigler, Phil Rossi, Mur Lafferty, etc. So thats out of the way. Onto the comments, and forgive me if this comment is a rambling mess :p
1. This concerns the Daniel/Danni situation. If Artax is unable to help Daniel/Danni "repair" the damage done to their souls then in my mind Rebecca is no better than Jared. Sure Jared affected Danni in a subconscious way but so is Rebecca in the way she is affecting Daniel. I'm pretty sure that Danni if she could think logically about what happened to her would be devestated by the pain/psychosis she cause Daniel. Now with the way Rebecca is helping her former lover, she is nearly forcing Danni to experience the same pain/psychosis that Daniel has suffured, not conciously but unconciously Rebecca is affect Danni and quite possibly doesn't even realize she's doing so. Yes Rebecca still considers Daniel a friend but Rebecca is going to have to realize the possible rift this will cause within her breeding cell. Obviously Sasha was concerned over Rebecca's desire to help Daniel, especially considering Rebecca and Daniel's history. Add in the fact of how uncomfortable Daniel staying at the Summers cell is going to be for Brian and Fiona and you could be looking at some serious problems. Lets say Artax is able to help correct the damage to Daniel/Danni, would the Summers cell even be comfortable have Danni around especially when in the throws of passion Danni could revert to Daniel and that could really really complicate matters even more than what they already are.
2. Ok this concerns Victor. I've got to say I like Victor alot. I'm personally getting tired of seeing the "heroes" always winning. Time for an "enemy" to start winning. I think Victor is going to push back and hard now that he knows he's being hunted by his fellow telepaths. Of course Victor could quite easily ally himself with the Vampire Syndicate even more so now that he has the "anti-telepath" technology in his skull. Actually I was thinking about his on my way home from work, what if the Vampire Syndicate asks Victor to take a look at the security footage from the break in at Vicount Security and he informs the Syndicate that it was Brian who lead the break in. Fiona works out of the appartment so technically she could be safe from retribution from the Syndicate. Brian on the other hand has to leave the appartment to go to work. Victor could lead a team of 5 or 6 vampires to capture Brian, this obviously would lead to some very ugly torture for Brian which could put his entire cell into trouble. Again Victor would probably handle the interrogation/torture first hand and quite possibly kill Brian himself, unless of course Victor allows the vampires to first turn Brian into a vampire and then Victor kills Brian. Of course turning Brian into a vampire would only be the more cruel if telepaths truly feared being turned into a vampire. Its been pretty obvious that Telepaths and the Vampire Syndicate do not like one another at all, the fear of being turned is just my own random idea....
Like I said this is a rambling type of post, but in a way it seems to coincide with the most recent chapter of Metamor City. Ok, if memory serves me correctly it was in the last podcast that there was mention that there were 14 chapters left in Making the Cut, with the current chapter that leaves 13. So 6.5 months later, baring any delays, Making the Cut will be over. I almost don't want to listen until the end of Making the Cut but I know that wont happen. Damn you Chris Lester for creating such a damn good podcast!! =D =D =D
Great insight in the Rebecca and Daniel/Danni situation! A lot of what you wrote hadn't occurred to me, and I'm glad to have it to think about! As for the Victor situation, that's a pretty cool scenario you've thought of, but I wonder if Victor could ally himself with the Vamp Sindicate? Callie said that Victor's betrayed everyone he's ever worked with, so wouldn't that include the Vamps? And would the Sindicate bother to seek out the people who actually broke in, or would they just declare war on the Collective in general? Or both? Hmmmm...well, fortunatly, as you put it, we only have SIX MONTHS to find out!!!
Hi Waranis!
Thanks for the very thoughtful comments! I'm excited to see people getting into the story so much.
Both Daniel and 'Becca are well aware of the complications of their current situation. We'll see more of that in the next chapter, when Daniel has his inevitable talk with the assembled Sommers cell. (Say that three times fast!) Fortunately, these men and women are all friends who care about each other very much, so they're going to do their best to handle the situation in a way that's fair to everyone -- but it's still going to be messy...
Glad to hear you're enjoying Victor's little schemes. You'll see in the next episode how he and the vamps make use of one another to further their own ends.
Keep it on the bright side!
Cheers,
Chris
"Zombie guards, seize him!" Tell me that's not fun to say.
